Tinubu Re-election: Ondo Youths Launch Local Government Campaign Tour

The Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu,(OYAT) says president Bola Ahmed Tinubu if re-elected in 2027 will create more employment opportunities for young individual and also improve infrastructure across the country.

The Director-General of the group, Thalis Apalowo, gave the assurance at the commencement of its Local Government tour, which covered Ifedore and Idanre council areas.

He said the primary aim of the group is intensify grassroots mobilization across wards and units in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Apalowo said the tour, which is expected to span all 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State, is aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilization and raising awareness about the group’s empowerment programmes and also the achievement of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the last three years.

Apalowo, said the mobilisation drive was anchored on direct interaction with voters, stressing that physical engagement remains critical to electoral success.

“With less than nine months to the election, we understand that there is no polling unit on social media. Elections are won within communities, and that is why we are here to connect directly with the people,” he said.

He noted that one-on-one engagement fosters trust and demonstrates recognition of the electorate, adding that the group’s strategy is designed to build strong grassroots support for the President.

Apalowo expressed optimism that the alliance would significantly improve on previous election figures in the state.

“In the last election, Ondo State recorded fewer than 300,000 votes. This time, we are working diligently to deliver at least one million votes for President Tinubu,” he said.

He added that OYAT has established a robust structure spanning the state, local governments, wards and polling units to ensure effective mobilisation and implementation of its programmes.

“Our structure ensures that decisions taken at the state level are effectively transmitted to the grassroots. Our focus is on youth empowerment through employment, skills development and capacity building,” he said.

While commending the efforts of the President and the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, youth leaders highlighted the need for expanded opportunities and infrastructure development to further enhance livelihoods.

In their goodwill messages, the Ifedore and Idanre Local Government Coordinators of the group, Abimbola Sandra and Adekiola Oluwasogo, commended the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the leadership of the alliance for creating opportunities for youths.
