President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the immediate arrest of George Buchi Nwabueze and suspended three Permanent Secretaries after the ICPC uncovered a fake agency operating inside the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The suspended officials are M.S. Danjuma, Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah.
ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Aliyu, SAN, disclosed this to State House correspondents on Friday.
He said the commission discovered an illegal body called the “National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office” allocated office space in OSGF without presidential approval.
Aliyu said Nwabueze allegedly headed the fake agency with the help of some OSGF officials and operates under multiple aliases.
This is the fourth fake agency uncovered by the ICPC since investigations began in April.
Others include the “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council,” whose alleged head, Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, is currently being prosecuted for forgery and impersonation.
