Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on youths in the state to take an active role in protecting their communities by utilizing their skills, strength, and youthful energy for societal development.
Governor Aiyedatiwa made the call while receiving members of the Ondo State Chapter of the Nigerian Youth Parliament in his office at Alagbaka, Akure.
The governor noted that young people have a significant role to play in ensuring the security and development of their communities.
He said his administration remains committed to youth empowerment through job creation and skills acquisition programmes aimed at making them self-reliant and productive members of society.

Governor Aiyedatiwa therefore urged the Youth Parliament to assist in mobilizing eligible youths across the state to take advantage of the one thousand employment opportunities allocated to Ondo State under the proposed Forest Guard Programme.
According to him, successful applicants will be trained and deployed to help safeguard their communities.
Earlier, the Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State Youth Parliament, Mr. Ali Abiola, commended the governor for his youth-friendly policies and ongoing infrastructural development across the state.
