AFCON 2023: Akabueze Drums Support For Super Eagles Ahead Of Elephants Clash

Former Super Eagles player Chukwuma Akabueze has expressed confidence in the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations clash against host, Ivory Coast on Thursday.

Akabueze popularly called Bentley by his fans in a chat with journalists noted that the current team have the potential to overcome their previous performance, where they played a 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea in their opening fixture of the 2023 AFCON.

Akabueze who featured for the Super Eagles and scored the winning goal in their international friendly clash against Kenya at the Moi international sports center by 0-1 said although the game against the host nation wont be an easy one,but was optimistic the Eagles will improve on their subsequent games.

While lamenting the injury scare in the team,the former Wuhan Zall of China player who currently play for Gençlerbirliği of Turkey said the newly replaced players also have the ability to make a difference.

The former Sunshine Stars and Kwara united players therefore encouraged Nigerians not to loose hope in the super Eagles and support the team always.

The Nigeria versus Ivory Coast Thursday’s match is billed for the Stade Alassane Ouattara stadium and is expected to kick-off at 6 o’clock Nigerian time.
