SAD NEWS: Three AAUA Students Die in Fatal Bus–Truck Collision

 

 

Three students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), have died in a tragic accident involving an 18-seater commercial bus and a truck in Ilesha, Osun State.

The crash occurred on Saturday morning while the bus was transporting passengers from Ojota in Lagos.

The Student Union President, Comrade Salami Ologbon, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview, describing it as a devastating loss for the university community.

According to him, the bodies of the deceased students have been deposited in a morgue, while several other passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Ilesha.

The Public Relations Officer of the Student Union Government (SUG), Comrade Ajidagba Akinbobola, also issued a formal statement expressing shock over the tragic development and assuring that the union is fully mobilized to support the affected families.

“The union extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the departed students and prays for the speedy recovery of the injured,” the statement read.

The SUG urged students to remain calm as more details about the accident will be communicated as soon as they are confirmed.
