PUBLIC NOTICE: Okeyemi Leaders Warn Against Transactions With Hector Olu Ifekoya

Okeyemi is a town in Ijebuland, located along Ibadan -Ijebu Ode expressway, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State in Southwest area of Nigeria.

The town is close to Iperin. High Chief Hector Olu Ifekoya the self-acclaimed Baale of the community was appointed the Asekute Yemilula Awujale of Okeyemi, a priesthood position whose role is to join other Asekutes in Ijebu land to propitiate the spirits of past kings for the peaceful co-existence in Ijebu land.

The office he occupied since 2006 till today. However, in the year 2023, High Chief Hector Olu Ifekoya proclaimed himself a Baale of Okeyemi without following the right part and due process as that case is still in court currently.

He however is surrounded by thugs and hoodlums trying to force everyone to recognise him as the Baale of Okeyemi which he is not. Of recent, one of his numerous thugs confronted the wife of Mr. Abiodun Safiriyu, living at Okeyemi, that Ifekoya has paid him and his group to eliminate the woman and the husband. On hearing this, the woman however, escaped and ran to Atan police station, Ijebu for safety and to make official reports of the incident. Upon getting to the house of Asekute Ifekoya with the police officers to arrest the thug, his hoodlums prevented the arrest and however, Chief Ifekoya promised to present the culprit to the police himself. This Ifekoya did and eventually bailed out the man from the police custody afterwards.

The case was eventually taking to court while Ifekoya could not present the assassin in court probably to prevent the assassin from giving true confession of his nefarious activities in the town and negative attitude which involves land grabbing and nefarious behaviour to sons and daughters of Okeyemi community.

The community elders in the past have queried his rulership as the Baale since he was not nominated appropriately and thus pleading with the concern authorities to yield to their plight on this issue and intervein.

The court gave him two options of going to jail or payment of certain fine as shown in the document of the Ogun State judiciary gazette. The public should therefore be aware of this development so that he does not scam them in respect to anything concerning the Okeyemi community. He is now a convict.

Both the Okeyemi leadership and the members of the Okeyemi community should be careful when dealing with him as whoever deals with him on any matter concerning Okeyemi community does so at his or her risk.
