Posthumous Birthday: Ondo APC Celebrates Akeredolu At 68

Former governor of the Sunshine State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON, is posthumously celebrated today, at 68 years old, by the Ondo State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC).

The ex-governor and former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, passed unto glory on the 27th December, last year, after months of fierce battle with death.

The State chapter recalled some of the landmark decisions of the man fondly called Aketi, to include the creation of security network (Amotekun), to protect residents of the state from invaders, aggressive drive for industrialisation of the State.

While the fly over bridge in Akure is ongoing, with the commitment of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa, the completed interchange in Ore, on the ever busy Benin-Sagamu Road, has drastically reduced carnage in that section, and ensured unhindered flow of traffic.

Arakunrin also ran away with credits for the first dualised road in Akoko land, besides bringing down Oke Alabojuto, that had caused so very costly accidents in the past years.

He led a government that undertook to offset many months of unpaid salaries and other liabilities without qualms, and broke the jinx of unemployment into State Government agencies and departments.

The contributions of the departed governor in all sectors, including Health, Education, road construction and repairs can not be over-emphasised.

The Amotekun General further served as Chairman, South West Governors’ Forum, and mouthpiece for the then Southern governors. He was an unrepentant advocate for justice, fair play, and true democracy

The State chapter that Akeredolu led with integrity joins thousands of his admirers, political followers, and well-wishers to celebrate him, and pray that the iconic leader continued to enjoy God’s mercy and goodness.

Happy posthumous birthday, sir.
