Ondo Wins Bronze In Badminton , Ayo Olopon To Increase Medal Haul To 17

Ondo state athletes to the National youth games in Asaba, Delta state continued their impressive form this afternoon picking bronze medals in Ayo Olopon, traditional sports and Badminton respectively.

Audu Mariam and Frank Praise secured the bronze medal in the cadet girls doubles event at the indoor sports hall.

The girls defeated Abia , Zamfara and Lagos state to clinch the bronze .

Ondo state Badminton coach Tunmise Olalehin described the win as result of harkwork

” My girls were determined to make a mark and when you are determined you need to put extra effort to achieve and that’s what gave the result”

Elsewhere, Busayo Kayode and Deborah Akinleye defeated their counterpart from Bayelsa 3-1 to pick a bronze medal in the Mixed doubles event of Ayo Olopon, a traditional sport .

Ondo state now has a total of 17 medals at the event which comes to an end today in Asaba .
