ONDO 2024: Gov’Aiyedatiwa Joins Ondo Guber Race,Says Late Akeredolu Annointed Him

Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa has formally declared his intention to contest in the November 2024 Ondo State gubernatorial election .

A mammoth crowd in different colourful outfits and banners thronged the arcade ground in Akure the state capital to express support for the governor.

Addressing the mammoth support groups , Governor Ayedatiwa said his target was
purposeful leadership to develop the state.

He reeled out some of his achievements in the few months he got to office to include various life changing projects in Education,road construction, payment of workers salary, pension and gratuities , thirty five thousand wage award to workers,free transportation for workers among others.

Governor Aiyedatiwa while soliciting the support of the people disclosed that he recently ordered the release of N1.2billion for the development of the state owned Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, 1billion naira for the university of medical sciences, Ondo while the purchase of one hundred brand new patrol vehicles for Amotekun Corps and recruitment of hundreds of primary school teachers were underway.

Earlier at a meeting with elders forum at the governor’s office,Mr Aiyedatiwa informed the elders that late governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu prophesied that he would be the next governor.

Governor Aiyedatiwa who praised his former boss as a courageous man said late Akeredolu informed many people of his believe in him as his successor.

He further said he is mentally and physically for the race.

In one of the goodwill messages , the member representing Ondo east/west federal constituency Mr Abiola Makinde described Governor Aiyedatiwa as a leader with a clear vision to transform the state.

Others who graced the ceremony included Deputy Governor Dr Olayide Adelami, former deputy Senate leader Prof Ajayi Borofice ,speaker Ondo state house of assembly , Mr Olamide Oladiji,former house of representatives member , Mr Ade Adeogun, political appointees,party chairmen across the Council areas ,artisans , student groups among others..
