Oluleye Declares Ambition For Akure North/South House Of Representatives
In a historic and energetic political gathering earlier today at Iju/Ita-Ogbolu, the headquarters of Akure North Local Government Area, Ayodeji DF Oluleye—popularly known as Ògo Àkúré formally declared his intention to contest for the Federal House of Representatives seat for Akure North and Akure South Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections.
The declaration took place in the presence of the full complement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Akure North, including the Local Government Executive Committee, all Ward Chairmen, youth leaders, women leaders, and a large crowd of party faithful who trooped out to witness what many described as “a long-awaited moment.”
During his speech, Ayodeji Oluleye, who hails from Igbatoro, Ward 4 of Akure North, emphasized that it is time for equity, fairness, and political balance in the constituency. He highlighted that since the creation of the current political structure, the House of Representatives position has been exclusively occupied by Akure South. According to him, “This historical imbalance must be corrected, and the moment for that correction is now.”
He explained that his aspiration is driven by a commitment to quality representation, bold and visionary leadership, and a renewed spirit of inclusiveness for youths, women, elders, and all social groups across the 23 wards of the federal constituency.
“No one will be left behind in our agenda for the Akure Kingdom,” he affirmed firmly. “My vision is to expand the Glory of Akure—Ògo Àkúré. Our people deserve the best. The energy, intelligence, and creativity of our youths must be harnessed for development, and that is where I come in. I represent a new generation of leadership—one that listens, leads with compassion, and delivers tangible results.”
Ayodeji further stated that his mission is rooted in holistic development, human-centered representation, and genuine service, reflecting a clear departure from politics of tokenism and selective attention. He described his candidature as a movement built on integrity, accessibility, and transformational ideas that will uplift every part of the constituency.
His declaration today followed a significant royal engagement the previous day, during which he paid homage to the palace of the revered Deji of Akure Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, where he received royal blessings for the journey ahead. The Deji, known for his commitment to unity and progress within the Kingdom, offered prayers and goodwill to strengthen the aspiration.
In the days leading to the declaration, Ayodeji DF Oluleye and the Ògo Àkúré Campaign Team embarked on a series of consultation visits across both Akure North and Akure South. These engagements included meetings with community leaders, opinion shapers, key stakeholders, and respected elders within the APC. He also visited several communities across the federal constituency, reaffirming his commitment to a people-driven campaign anchored on grassroots participation.
With today’s declaration, the Ògo Àkúré movement enters a new phase, one charged with hope, energy, and a firm belief that a brighter future for Akure Kingdom is possible.
