JUST IN: Kidnappers Got N5M,Cigarettes, Food Items For My Release – Ondo Farmer
Farmers around Oda town , Ala-Dada, Ofosu, Ajagbusi and Aruloko have raised alarm of infiltration of forest reserves located in the area by kidnappers .
This is coming following the Kidnap of a farmer , Apostle John Jayeoba last week Saturday but was released today after an alleged ransom of five million naira.
In an interview Apostle Jayeola said the kidnappers who he identified as young men whisked him away from Olojoda junction deep into the forest tortured and also beat up into coma , one of his relatives that brought his ransom.
The victim explained that his abductors aside the ransom also collected cigarettes, beverages and lots of food items and as well beat up into coma one of his relatives that brought the ransom.
Reacting to the incident , Olu of Itedo-Titun in Akure north local government area of Ondo state , Chief Olatunde Adedipe alleged that suspected herdsmen were responsible for frequent kidnappings in the area .
He disclosed that the suspected herdsmen had taken over the forest reserves making farmers to abandon the farmlands, a development which he said could spell doom for food supply to Akure the state capital.
The traditional ruler then passionately appealed to the Ondo state government to urgently increase surveillance of those areas and flush out the Kidnap gangs before they turn the area to their operational base.
