IWD 2024: Advocates Call For Protection Of Women’s Rights

Two women advocates, Alhaja Airat Ogungbenro and Dr Christiana Omidiji have urged government to sensitise people on the danger of gender based violence, GBV.

Alhaja Ogungbenro and Dr Omidiji made this known while speaking on this year’s International Women’s Day on Pensioners’ FM Current Affairs programme, “Voice of Liberation”.

According to them, educating the public on the importance of women would protect women and girls from societal vices and violence.

Alhaja Ogungbenro and Dr Omidiji, also called for the review of 1999 constitution to give room for law protecting girls and women.

Speaking further, Alhaja Ogungbenro and Dr Omidiji, called for more participation of women in policies making and good governance for socio-economic development of the nation.

The two women advocates advised women to always support each other in all ramifications.
