Imope Kingdom Appeals To Awujale To Resolve Royal Succession Issues
The entire Imope community leadership in Ijebu has thanked the paramount ruler of The Ijebu land, Alayeluwa Oba. Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona for upgrading some community bales in Ijebu land to the position of Oba (Kings) which allowed Imope community to benefit from such benevolence which is a welcome initiative by the paramount ruler but the entire community has rejected the candidature of Chief Tajudeen Kolawole Omotayo as the selected king. Omotayo imposed himself as the community leader in Imope and he has been terrorizing the community and it’s environs.
Most of his negative attitude involves land grabbing and nefarious behaviour to sons and daughters of the community. Community elders in the past have queried his rulership as the baale since he was not nominated appropriately and thus pleading to Awujale to yield to their plight. Imope community indigenes have denied in entirety that they are not from Fidipote Ruling House which Tikio is claiming.
Tikio as he is popularly called brought some land grabbers to the community ravaging Imope thereby downgrading the name of Awujale by claiming popular Oko Oba exceeded Okuruwu River.
The community members are pleading for relief and safety from modern day slavery which is the style of Chief Tajudeen Omotayo. Despite the pending court case Chief Tajudeen went ahead to receive Royal Blessing from the Awujale of Ijebu land last week Thursday 16th January 2025 which is unacceptable to imope sons and daughters.
