Governor Aiyedatiwa Signs Amendment Bill To Increase Number Of Judges

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has signed into law the amendment bill to increase the number of judges in the state’s judiciary system.

The historic signing ceremony took place at the cocoa conference hall Governor’s office, Akure and witnessed the state lawmakers, judicial officers, and others who celebrated the achievement.

Addressing the gathering,Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted the importance of the amendment, which increased the number of judges by 11, bringing the total number of judges in Ondo state to 35.

The governor also praised the leadership of the Ondo state judiciary for their commitment to independence, neutrality, impartiality, and courage in the dispensation of justice.

Earlier in an address, the Chief Judge of Ondo State , Justice Olusegun Odusola said the signing into law of the amendment bill was a testament of the Governor’s commitment to enhancing the efficiency of judiciary in Ondo State

The CJ noted the development would reduce the workload of judges and speed up court matters which would eventually decongest the Correctional Centers.

In a remark , the Speaker ,Ondo state house of assembly, Chief Olamide Oladiji said the house of assembly synergized with other stakeholders to assist the judiciary in quick dispensation of justice .
