Gov’ Aiyedatiwa Signs ₦524.4bn Ondo 2026 Budget Into Law

 

Ondo State Governor Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill of ₦524.4 billion into law.

Tagged “Budget of Economic Consolation,” the governor stated that the fiscal plan is strategically designed to place the state on the path of sustainable growth while safeguarding the welfare of citizens.

Governor Aiyedatiwa appreciated members of the Ondo State House of Assembly and the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget for their diligence and thorough scrutiny of the budget.

He noted that key sectors including economic development, infrastructure, education, health, and community development will benefit significantly to ensure meaningful impact on the lives of the people.

He urged residents to take ownership of the budget and support government initiatives, while commending security agencies, traditional rulers, and religious leaders for sustaining peace in the state.

Earlier, the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Olamide Oladiji, commended the governor for ongoing infrastructural projects across the state, particularly in Akure, noting that they will attract investors and boost economic growth.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Laolu Akindolire, said the budget was carefully structured to strengthen all sectors of the state’s economy and ensure prosperity for the people.

The signing ceremony was attended by top government officials including the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, lawmakers, and officials of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
