Gov. Aiyedatiwa Approves ₦350m for 2025 Scholarship, Bursary Scheme

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the sum of ₦350 million for the payment of the 2025 scholarship and bursary scheme for indigenes of the state studying in higher institutions across Nigeria.

The allocation will cover five categories of awards, including medical students, law students, and students with disabilities.

According to official figures, about 12,000 students will benefit from the 2025 scheme, representing an increase from last year’s ₦335 million disbursed to 11,200 beneficiaries.

Governor Aiyedatiwa had raised the annual bursary allowance from ₦10,000 to ₦20,000, while students with disabilities received ₦75,000 each, and scholarship beneficiaries were awarded ₦100,000 each.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to education, the Governor described it as the cornerstone of development and the key to unlocking the potential of young people.

Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the scheme is designed to ease the financial burden of students.
