The occasion was graced by labour leaders in Ondo state as they beckoned on the members to remain dutiful in their posts to receive respect.

Speaking on the theme of this year’s conference: Teachers-A catalyst in economic development, the Chairman of APC special interest Committee for teachers, Mr Olusola Adojutelegan urged the teachers to always show the way and be united as one in proposing and executing goals.

Mr Adojulegan reminded them that they should be economically focused to grow a trillion dollar economy by engaging in educational programs that would turn around their lives.

He therefore advised them to sow bountifully on a 3 prong approach to build public wealth through public, private and public-private partnership to reap their yielding fruits in abundance.

Mr Adojulegan assured Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa that ASUSS members were solidly behind him that “it does not matter the economic situation of the country or the hopeless all around, our freedom is here. Our promise therefore is that we will by God grace make this journey with your excellency to the promised land an easy one as well as an accomplished one. We are following you to the land of milk and honey and to the land flowing with with milk and honey, here we come.”

He further said “the lucky economy as he referred to Mr governor is to make the schools become super rich, students prosper, society thrives and Ondo state becomes prosperous.”

In their goodwill messages labour leaders applauded the teachers for being in the forefronts to shape the society for better.

On his part, Ondo State acting NLC chairman, Comrade Akinyemi Tubosun who congratulated them for the successful deliberation charged them to be united in one voice to achieve their noble objectives.

On his part, TUC State chairman, Ondo State chapter, Comrade Clement Fatuase advised the New executives to put the collective interest of the union above personal ambitions.

“The day your followers stop bringing their problems to you, you stop being their leader. I challenge you today, be bold and courageous as a lion, keep an eagle eye and be a leader who can go to equity with clean hands in dispatching your leadership responsibilities.”

Also admonishing the teachers, the tutor general from Ondo North, Pastor Adebayo Ajimuda urged them to maintain positive balance to keep moving, give mutual respect to each others, be united always, be appreciative and take good care of themselves in order to remain healthy.

The State controller, Federal ministry of labour and employment Akure, Ondo State, Mrs Olanike Mogboruko said teachers were more than facilitators of knowledge.

“They are the architects of the future by equipping our youths with the skills, values and knowledge needed for growth.”

Mrs Mogboruko represented by assistant chief labour officer, Mrs Christiana Sadiq said the teachers also laid the foundation for a thriving economy and a better society.

She pointed out that the development of human capital which is central to economic progress rested heavily on the quality and dedication of the teachers in Ondo State as in the entire country.

The quadrennial delegation conference had come and gone with attendees across the state but it now rests on the executives to move the union forward.
