Political Realignment: APC Hails Akingbaso’s Exit from PDP
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has described the defection of former deputy governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Festus Akingbaso, as a landmark harvest for the ruling party, and a deflation of the main opposition party.
The party further described Akingbaso, a member of the House of Representatives, who has won elections against odds, as notable political figure, whose popularity and experience would further fortify the chances of APC in future elections.
State chairman of the ruling party, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, while celebrating the defection, said the Sunshine State “now has three senators and nine members of the House of Representatives. This shows that APC is really a progressive party.”
Adetimehin assured the federal lawmaker that the ruling party would give him all the support and encouragements to realize his dreams as a politician.
The APC chieftain applauded the Governor and leader of the chapter, Dr. Lucky Ayedatiwa, and other leaders for their ingenuity and tireless efforts to make the party more appealing in the state.
The party appealed to the executive of the party and leaders in Idanre Local Government Area to give Akingbaso and his followers a rousing reception.
