Governor Aiyedatiwa Approves N633M for WAEC Fees of Ondo State Students

Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the sum of N633,918,000 for the payment of 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) registration fees for public secondary school students across the state.

This initiative, aimed at easing the financial burden on parents and guardians, will cover 23,048 students who successfully passed the Joint Senior Secondary School II Promotion Examination conducted by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.

For years, the Ondo State Government has consistently funded WAEC registration for public school students, providing much-needed relief to families—especially in light of prevailing economic challenges. The WASSCE is a critical academic milestone, serving as a gateway to higher education and career opportunities.

By ensuring the annual payment of these fees, the state government continues to promote equitable access to education, allowing eligible students to take the exam without financial barriers. This initiative also helps bridge socio-economic gaps among students.

Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to funding WASSCE registration aligns with the administration’s ‘OUR-EASE’ policy, which prioritizes Education, Human Capital Development, and Entrepreneurship as key pillars of growth and development.
