President Tinubu Mourns Ibadan Funfair Tragedy Victims, Orders Probe

President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the tragic incident at a children’s funfair in Ibadan, Oyo State, which claimed innocent lives and left many others injured.

Tinubu extended his condolences to the government and people of Oyo State and, most importantly, to the grieving families who have lost their children in the unfortunate event.

PUNCH Online reported that 32 children died during a stampede at a funfair in Ibadan on Wednesday, with reports on Thursday indicating a rise to 35.

This was contained in a Thursday statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Bayo Onanuga.

It was titled, “Tinubu Expresses Deep Anguish Over Ibadan FunFair Tragedy, Demands Thorough Investigation.”

“This is a deeply painful moment for the entire nation,” Tinubu, adding that, “I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the families enduring this unimaginable loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as we mourn this tragic occurrence together.”

Determined to prevent similar tragedies, the president has ordered a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the incident.
