ONDO 2024: Akure People Assures Gov’ Aiyedatiwa Of Total Victory At Guber Election
Indigenes of Akure kingdom have assured Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of total victory at the forth coming gubernatorial election coming up on the 16th of November, 2024.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, on Friday, began the 18 local governments campaign tour in Akure South Local Government area of the State.
The Governor’s supporters showed their enthusiasm, dancing, chatting different songs and screaming “We’re Lucky”, assuring the Governor that their votes will speak loudly come November 16, describing the day as a done deal and God’s project.
Governor Aiyedatiwa visited the Deji of Akure kingdom, Oba Aladelusi Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo in his palace where he met with other traditional rulers, Chiefs in Akure South and received royal blessings.

Oba Aladetoyinbo who spoke on behalf of the forty three monarchs and other chiefs in Akure South, including the Olujigba of Ijigba, Oba Luyi Rotimi, the Elemo of Okelisa, Chief Segun Adedipe and Elemo of Akure, Chief Olu Ajanaku, appreciated the Governor for carrying everyone along in his government, appointment of Akure indigenes, especially the youths. He also commended his passion for grassroots development.
The monarch demanded for a peaceful election, more streetlights,agro allied empowerment for farmers and the construction/renovation of rural roads in Akure.

Addressing Monarchs, the Governor appreciated their support and assurance, adding that Akure had been a peaceful city, said his administration was ready to ensure its beautification to allow the city become more attractive being the state capital.

“Akure remains one of the most peaceful state capitals in Nigeria. If any development wants to happen in the state for good, it must start from Akure. We have been doing what you ask for, we will continue to do more”, the Governor said.
He promised to provide alternative routes by constructing modern passage to ease traffic at the market, construct modern toilet facilities to halt open defication.
Also at Oda road, Governor Aiyedatiwa promised not to abandon the road project and ensure that the road project in Oda town is completed.
The Governor also visited Aponmu community, artisans, motor parks to address the driver unions and market to address the market men and women.

Governor Aiyedatiwa had earlier inaugurated the Owode Akure Community Project under the ONDO CARES initiative. The project included the construction of six classrooms at St. Peter’s Primary School, Akure, designed to create a conducive learning environment for students.
The Governor was accompanied by his running mate, Dr Olayide Adelami, State Chairman of APC, Engr Ade. Adetimehin, Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi, Top party chieftains, among others.
