HEALTH: Relief As World Bank Partner Ondo Govt To Combat Malaria, Infant Mortality With Over N16 Billion

Over 16 billion naira fund allocated to Ondo state by the world bank to tackle malaria , infant and maternal mortality rate will be used judiciously.

Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa stated this
when he received world health impact team on immunization and Malaria.

Mr Aiyedatiwa disclosed that the state already mapped out plans to improve the health sector with the recruitment of more skilled health workers and tackling of cholera, diphteria among other diseases in the state.

Earlier, the team lead , world bank impact team on immunization and malaria , Dr Onoriode Ezire said the sum of twenty thousand dollars had been budgeted to upgrade and improve health facilities in the state.

Dr Ezire asked the state government to access within eighteen months and put to use the four million dollars already made available for immunization and eradication of Malaria including free distribution of mosquito nets.

In a response , commissioner for health , Dr Banji Ajaka commended the team for partnering Ondo state in tackling various health challenges with an assurance that government was ready to work with all stakeholders in ensuring proper utilization of the funds.
