BREAKING: Organised Labour Declares Indefinite Strike Over Minimum Wage

Organised Labour, comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), has declared an indefinite strike to commence on Monday, June 3.

Festus Osifo, TUC President, announced the decision at a joint news conference with the leadership of the NLC in Abuja on Friday.

The announcement follows the expiration of an earlier request to the federal government to conclude negotiations for a new minimum wage before the end of May 2024.

FG’s last offer, FIJ gathered, was a N60,000 minimum wage, but organised labour said it fell short of their six-figure demands.
