The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has officially blessed the appointment of Otunba Babatunde Tiamiyu as the new General Manager of Ayekooto 88.3 FM.
During an homage visit to the palace, the monarch wished the veteran broadcast journalist immense success in steering the affairs of the premier private commercial radio station, which serves Iwo town and the wider Osun West Senatorial District.
Oba Akanbi welcomed the experienced media professional to his kingdom, expressing strong confidence in Tiamiyu’s robust career credentials.
The traditional ruler noted that despite the high level of competition in the modern radio broadcasting industry, Tiamiyu possesses the professional expertise required to elevate Ayekooto FM to an enviable height.
Assuring the new General Manager of unalloyed personal and royal support, the Oluwo promised to ensure a rewarding operational stay in Iwo.
He further urged Tiamiyu to deploy his media prowess as a tool to promote peace, unity, and progress within Iwoland, Osun State, and Nigeria at large.
Earlier, Otunba Tiamiyu stated that his presence at the palace was to pay homage and secure royal blessings.
He referenced the timeless Yoruba adage, “Ajeji kii wo’lu, ki onilu ma mo” (A stranger cannot enter a town without the knowledge of the community’s custodian).
The new General Manager promised a close working relationship with the Oluwo and the local community.
Otunba Tiamiyu also pledged to use the platform of Ayekooto 88.3 FM, to attract further developmental strides to the region, building upon the numerous achievements already recorded under Oba Akanbi’s reign.
The high point of the visit featured a special prayer session led by the monarch for the smooth running and success of the station under its new leadership.
Oba Akanbi concluded the audience by advising the new General Manager to uphold strict media ethics and maintain a high standard of professionalism in his administrative and editorial duties.
