Ezer Kings To Gospel Musicians: Don’t Be Distracted By Sound, Let Your Message Preach The Gospel

Fast-rising Afrobeats gospel artiste Ebenezer Afolabi, popularly known as Ezer Kings, has described music as a universal language capable of connecting people across cultures and borders.

Speaking with journalists, the singer stressed that beyond rhythm and melody, the true power of music lies in the message conveyed through its lyrics.

He noted that the impact of any song is largely defined by the values and meaning it communicates to listeners.
According to him, regardless of the genre an artiste chooses, the content must reflect messages that inspire, uplift, and project the essence of the gospel.

He emphasised that music should go beyond entertainment, serving as a tool for spreading positive values and the message of Jesus Christ.

Ezer Kings further highlighted the global appeal of Afrobeats, describing it as a strong representation of African identity, creativity, and sound.

He explained that the genre offers African artistes a unique platform to showcase their heritage while delivering meaningful messages to a wide audience.

He, however, cautioned gospel musicians against focusing solely on rhythm and trends, urging them to ensure their content remains rooted in the teachings of Christ.

The artiste also revealed that renowned gospel singer Frank Edwards has played a significant role in his musical journey, serving as a source of inspiration and mentorship.

He credited his growth and artistic direction to the influence and example of his mentor.

Advising aspiring musicians, Ezer Kings encouraged young artistes to remain consistent, stay true to their purpose, and create music that positively impacts lives while staying grounded in their faith.
