2023: Social Media Insults Gives Me Headache, High Blood Pressure – Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has explained why he has chosen to be inactive on social media.

In a video that went viral on Saturday, November 19, 2022, the former Lagos State governor can be seen saying that social media abuse causes high blood pressure.

He went on to say that such abusive comments usually make him angry, so he’s decided to stop reading social media posts.

The APC presidential candidate was asked how he keeps up with online trends, and he said that typically, he relies on his kids or any of his employees to tell him what has been said about him on social media. When the comments become overly critical, he simply tells them to forget about it.

Tinubu’s phrase “I no longer read social media. They treated me horribly. If I read it, my blood pressure rises and I become enraged. No, I don’t read it. My children or any of my employees will tell me this one if I want to hear it.I will request that you forget it if I am tired.”

The presidential candidate has been a major trending topic on social media since the start of this election cycle, particularly on Twitter where controversies surrounding his health, alleged drug related forfeiture in the United States, educational qualifications among others have been heavily debated.

Some Nigerians have also focused on his many gaffes at events and campaign grounds and make derisive memes out of them.
